Introduction
The AfCFTA is the result of a ten-year process initiated by the African Union to establish a unified market for goods, services, and investments across the continent. The agreement includes mechanisms to eliminate trade barriers like tariffs and define rules for determining the origin of products. While some trade has already begun within the agreement, full implementation of trade under the specific tariff barrier and rules of origin frameworks outlined in the AfCFTA is yet to fully take off.
